It is frankly too big.
It is frankly too big. The other version we had which was the “intermediate” size was much better. Went for this one hoping to get top of the line but it’s frankly overkill and just too big with wife complaining the head is so big it just numbs everything and cannot quite hit the spot… also it’s incredibly heavy. Would go for the intermediate size if I were to re-order but I don’t think you accept returns once product has been opened.

Hi Richard, Thanks for the honest feedback. You’re right that the Max is a substantial wand. The larger head, metal construction and overall dimensions are intentional, but we completely appreciate that this isn’t going to suit everyone. We do list the dimensions and weight on the website, although reviews like yours are a useful reminder that we can probably make the differences between the models even clearer. One thing that may be worth trying before completely writing it off is using the Max slightly further away from the target area, or through clothing or a folded towel. Because the vibration is so deep, it can still be very effective without direct contact, and that extra layer can make the sensation feel much less overwhelming. You can then gradually move closer if that feels more comfortable. The Compact exists specifically for customers who want the Doxy-style deep rumble in a considerably smaller and more manoeuvrable format, whereas the Max sits at the opposite end of the range. It sounds as though the Compact may have been the better fit for what your wife prefers, but hopefully the above gives you another way to use the Max together. Great rumbles, but hurt by the quick heat build up.
A bit hard to use soce it heats up so fast on teally any setting. Vibrations are definitely better and more rumbly than my Hitachi, but it fails drastically in comparison to the hitach on comfortable sustained use. For short use, like a couple of minutes, its great but Id recommend covering wherever your using it with like a microfiber cloth or use a good deal of luube to try and reduce the friction and heat. Doing all that maked it pretty inconvenient. Its especially noticeable when using it on a chastity cage. Which is what I primarily bought it for. may be better for other use, but most of the time I just use the hitachi instead for convenience.

Hi Jeremy, Thanks for the detailed review. The Hitachi and the Die Cast Max are actually quite different products in terms of construction. A Hitachi is lighter, plastic-bodied and not a fully sealed metal unit, so heat can dissipate very differently during extended use. The Die Cast Max is built around a solid metal, fully sealed body. That construction is a big part of what gives it the deeper, heavier rumble you’ve noticed, but it also means that during a longer session the casing will naturally retain more heat rather than venting it away. For that reason, we recommend taking a break after around 30 minutes of continuous use and allowing the unit to cool before continuing. So if long, uninterrupted sessions with a lighter and cooler-bodied wand are your priority, I would suggest the Doxy Original. I’m pleased you’ve noticed the extra depth and rumble though, as that’s exactly what the Max was designed to deliver. Thanks for the honest feedback. Leigh
It’s fine…
I’m not sure I feel any real difference from the previous models to this one. I do find that the neck is just as flimsy (I have snapped the necks of 4 doxy’s to date :/ ) and am worried about this one snapping in the not too distant future. The ‘deep’ rumble seems to move a lot more in to the handle and doesn’t stay in the head… I was slightly disappointed given all the build up.

Thanks for the honest feedback. Given that you experienced neck failures with four previous Doxy wands, I completely understand why movement in the new neck would concern you. It is worth clarifying that the legacy necks were not designed to be repeatedly bent, and doing so could contribute to failure. The 2.0 neck has been completely redesigned and reinforced specifically to address that weakness. Its controlled flexibility is intentional and isn’t an indication that it shares the same construction as the previous generation. The solid die-cast body also absorbs and dampens unwanted vibration. We have compared the legacy and 2.0 models side by side, and the new construction does a better job of isolating vibration from the handle. With a motor this powerful, a faint mechanical sensation cannot be eliminated entirely, but the counterweight’s intended output remains concentrated through the head. I’m sorry the new model hasn’t delivered the difference you hoped for, but I appreciate you giving it a try and sharing your experience. Leigh
